Our current display is a mixed showcase of works from the Fairhurst collection; an array of different artworks from a number of local artists, such as those featured on our Artists page, as well as traditional, antique framed works which have been given restoration treatment in the Fairhurst workshop.
The exhibit features paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints in a vast array of styles, depicting landscapes, still lives and abstract interpretations in a unity between contemporary and traditional approaches.

Ruth, Pencil Drawing c.1840s, in Early 19th Century Floral Running Pattern Frame, £800
The pencil sketch on paper depicts the biblical figure Ruth. Although unauthenticated, it is believed that this may have been a preliminary sketch by Robert Scott Lauder for his Ruth oil painting, c.1842, given the style and unmistakable similarities.
